OUR MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Chalice Christian Church is to witness to God's love, forgiveness, and acceptance of all people through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Therefore, in response to the grace which Christ has given to us, we pledge ourselves to be open and affirming of all people regardless of gender, race, age, culture, ethnic background, sexual orientation, economic circumstance, family configuration, or difference in ability. 

+ We value diversity in community - including differences of opinion and uniqueness of individual expression of Christian discipleship. 

+ We seek to embody this new vision of God's peace and justice in worship, prayer, care of creation, education, outreach and mission. 

+ We believe that this is what Christ calls the church to be.

OPEN AND AFFIRMING

One of our deepest held convictions is that Christ came for all of God's children. Thus we, as but a segment of those people, cannot and will not exclude anyone on the basis of sexual orientation, ethnicity, economic/social status, gender, physical or mental ability.

As an Open & Affirming Congregation, we are intentional in our openness regarding the membership and leadership of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people in our congregation and join with the almost 60 congregations and organizations of the Christian Church (DOC) in declaring our witness and ministry among all God's people."
