What We Believe

As Disciples, Chalice Christian Church does not promote a rigid set of beliefs to which all members must adhere.  We are a community that values curiosity and seeking God’s truth with your own eyes.  As we are fond of saying, Chalice is a place where questions matter as much as answers.

Bible Study

We meet every Sunday morning at 11:15 a.m. to discuss our faith.  We guide this discussion at times by responding to the Scripture selected for the following Sunday.  Recently, we have selected a book study.  Recent selections include Men We Reaped: A Memoir by Jesmyn Ward; The Color of Compromise: The Truth about the American Church’s Complicity in Racism, by Jemar Tisby; and Outside the Lines: How Embracing Queerness Will Transform Your Faith, by Mihee Kim-Kort.

Currently, you can attend Bible (and other Books) study by following this link on Sunday’s at 11:15 a.m.

Children’s Worship and Wonder

Children Worship and Wonder is an exciting way to approach faith formation with children. The approach recognizes children as spiritual beings who already have a relationship with God. They hear Bible Stories in a way that allows them to enter into the stories and form responses out of their own life experiences. It’s based in the Montessori approach to learning.

Each Sunday, children get to hear a Bible story told just for them during 10 a.m. worship. Then, they get a chance to respond to the story on their own–through art or re-telling the story. Children can go to the nursery or return to their families afterward.

Bloody Mary Bible Brunch

A podcast and a gathering

A lay leader and the pastor talk about Bible things with Bloody Mary’s. Ok, sometimes it’s Mimosas or Bellinis, No matter what we’re drinking, the conversation is good and (we hope) entertaining.
